Trini couple gives up info on ‘terror threat’*

A TRINIDADIAN couple who was detained in Amman, Jordan, late last month provided critical information that helped local law enforcement authorities in their anti-terror ope­rations in the days leading up to Carnival.
Fifteen people were held for questioning in connection with a plot to disrupt Carnival. Two were charged with gun possession while the others were freed.
A senior intelligence source who has been part of the ongoing operation confirmed the couple—Kemlyn Keagan Roopchan, 32, and his wife, Zaida Mohammed, 31, from Sangre Grande—were picked up by Jordanian authorities.
