‘no consultation with Tobago’

T&T’s new ferry: The Galleons Passage.


THE Government is facing criticism over its decision to purchase a new ferry without engaging stakeholders in Tobago who have been most affected by the sea bridge woes.

Chairman of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association Chris James told the Sunday Express there had been no consultation with Tobago stakeholders on the purchase of the $17.4-million vessel.

He said while he could not give an assessment of the vessel just yet due to insufficient information, from the information received thus far, the new ferry is slower and has less capacity than previous vessels.
