Safety and security is assured at Army Fete—and this year is no different. This reassurance comes from the Organising Committee of the annual event, which typically attracts close to 10,000 patrons and will be held at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain on Friday, February 2 from 9 p.m.
During a special signing ceremony this week with new event sponsors, Hennessy and Johnnie Walker Black, chairman of the Army Fete Organising Committee, Major Jason Hills explained why this event has long been (and continues to be) considered as “the safest fete in Carnival”. He said:
“Army Fete attracts one of the largest crowds for any fete during the Carnival season and that’s the reason why we utilise more than a company—almost 200 persons—on the night, in order to keep the patrons safe and also to maintain order within the ranks of the thousands of patrons that usually attend—with many of them being under the influence of alcohol also.
