AN ex-Caroni worker returning home from a card game was gunned down on Saturday.
Rickie Lochan, 48, of Cipero Road, Golconda, was killed outside his home.
His wife, Ferosa Lochan, heard an explosion at around 1.50 a.m.
More than an hour later when she made a check around the house she found him motionless with a gunshot injury to the left side of his cheek.
His body was next to his vehicle.
Police believe that the killer waited in a track near his house and ambushed him as he exited the vehicle.
Rickie Lochan was pronounced dead at the scene.
She said that earlier that night at around 8 p.m. her husband went to play all fours at Barrackpore.
“I heard one gunshot. I did not know it was my husband down on the ground”, said the wife.
He was a father of three and a grandfather of three.
Rickie Lochan was described as a person who was “very nice, but did not take stupidness”.
Police said that the motive for the killing was not yet certain.
