While it may not be lawless, it seems to be the thing now to park in spaces reserved for persons with disabilities. In recent weeks, I have observed the nasty behaviour of persons who insist on occupying spaces that are clearly marked. This happens in the malls with impunity: as a matter of fact, I have seen where the security in the car park approaches the errant person, only to be met with obscenities, abuse, unending curse words and threats. Further, I remember a few times on a leading television programme where the police are called out for their behaviour, that they too were parking in a handicap space. Needless to say, the then police host had a plaster for that sore, but that is passe.
