Recent poll findings on the performance of the People’s National Movement Government have revealed the depth of disappointment that exists in the electorate who voted the Rowley administration and the People’s National Movement (PNM) into office.
In the short space of two years it has become pellucidly clear that the PNM fooled the people into thinking they had a plan for the country. The glitter has now been washed away and the incompetence and inadequacy of the leadership which the country thought existed in the PNM have been brutally exposed.
In the meantime, the people have begun once again to appreciate the five years of prosperity they enjoyed under the Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration.
It is not surprising therefore that while Dr Rowley has fallen steeply in the eyes of the electorate, Mrs Persad-Bissessar continues to be a viable leader and the United National Congress (UNC) a viable alternative government.
