Lessons from Irma*

Sir Richard Branson, founder of the billion dollar Virgin Group and the homeless man were made equal as both hid from the destructive wrath of Hurricane Irma.
For the past week our news has been dominated with the images of Irma’s aftermath after she hammered through the region.
She was described as one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the Atlantic basin—and swept across islands including St Martin, Puerto Rico, Cuba and the British and US Virgin Islands.
The island of Barbuda, sister to Antigua is now barely habitable as Irma smashed all the homes on the tiny island.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne said 95 per cent of buildings on Barbuda had been damaged, and the island was “literally under water”.
The death toll up to yesterday was approximately 30 with 27 deaths in the Caribbean and three in Florida.
