Bruno would help anyone in need*

LAST RIDE: Pallbearers carry the body of former Councillor Pernell Bruno after Thursday’s funeral service at the St Theresa RC Church in Malick, Barataria.

Former tourism minister Joseph Ross eulogised his dear friend and late Barataria Councillor Pernell Troy Bruno as “genuine,” “one who could laugh and who could cry,” and “one of Trinidad and Tobago’s finest athletes”.
More importantly, Ross said Bruno debunked a common sentiment “that people only see politicians at election time.” Ross delivered the eulogy before a big congregation at St Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church at Malick, Barataria, on Thursday.
Bruno, 52, succumbed to cancer at the Port of Spain General Hospital two Saturdays ago.
Among the prominent mourners were Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, Local Government Minister Kazim Hosein, Community Development Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, chairman of the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation Anthony Roberts and Port of Spain Deputy Mayor Hillan Morean.
